anyone going its the same weekend as the nec classic car show so will be hard to get the 2 events in but will try to do the nec on friday then get up early for the treck up north for the rally ,Rob smith will be out in his hsr which seems to be getting reliable finnishing 5th oa on the trackrod and setting a 2nd fastest time on stage 2 ,theres also 2 ascona 400s out so will break the monotony of escorts there

North East 25 rally 17/18 October

I have an entry on the above rally which is based at The Park Hotel in Montrose, the rally is in 3 legs starting at 1pm Saturday, 7.30 pm Saturday and 9am Sunday. The daylight sections are special tests on private land and the evening section is a traditional timed to the minute road rally. If any members are based near Montrose, it would be nice to see you out spectating.

VBOA Ireland 2010

The date for the VBOA International Rally 2010 has now been confirmed.
Sunday May 23rd until Saturday May 29th.
The DSG contingent may have extra dates if there are any DSG Northern Ireland events planned!.

Rallyday at Castle Combe Circuit Sept 19th 2009

Rallyday 2009 takes place again this year,allways a good event with plenty of rally cars of all types.
Usually plenty of celebrities and ex. drivers including the usual DTV/GMDS works drivers.
We have for the last 3 years only had 2 cars on the Club Stand.
This year I have no car to take,and Graham K.may not be able to attend.

Tour Britannia 7-9th September

This years Tour Britannia entry list includes a Viva GT driven by Tom Callanan and Chris Towers, the event starts from Silverstone with the first overnight halt at Whittlebury Hall with the second night halt and finish at Rudding Park near Wetherby. The competitive sections are races and rally stages with regularity navigation sections in between. The last day is all spent in Yorkshire with tests at Harrogate showground, Castle Howard and Duncombe Park.

I will have to admit that I failed to do this earlier in the year. I'd like to invite the Droop Snoot Group to the Gathering. went to a local meet last night, lots of classic American & British cars, its at Mc bobs at the metro center just of A1, its on every 2nd wed of the month from apr to oct, 6pm onwards. just drop in if you passing or drop the good lady off at the shops & have a look around & a chat, v,friendly atmosphere. if its a nice night Thar over 100 cars & pickups Thar.

Shelsley Walsh Classic- July 19th

For any one interested I have managed to get an entry for the Classic Meeting on Sunday July 19th. This is for pre 1980 cars so covers cars from1920,s onwards saloon, sports and racing cars.
Have entered the HS as a double entry with nephew Mark sharing the car. Mark drove the car at Shelsley in 2005 for the DSG aniversary weekend, he currently holds a number of Hill records & FTD's in his single seater, so I expect he will be quick (that's me beaten already!) If any one goes...

Just read in MS News about the above event,it was used during 1910-1920 on a public hill road just outside Princes Risborough,7 miles from High Wycombe(A4010).due to a broken arm to a spectator,all motorsport in the UK was then banned,Many famous drivers raced here Raymond Mays,Malcolm Campbell,Henry Segrave etc.
Over 300 vintage,veteran cars and bikes will be taking place,and a couple of local British GT cars!!!

VBOA International Meet 2010
It's a long way off,but next years International Meeting is hopefully taking place in Ireland.
There are no details as yet,but it will probably be in May.
Location to be confirmed later also,but it will be in The South somewhere.
So better start saving!.
