Reply box problems

Hi Sean, I cant access photobucket or my pictures or use any of the tools in the reply box, it just comes up error on page.Is it my computer or is there a fault? Thanks for you help.

Hi Sean, I use my mobile to look at the website quite a lot and noticed it is a slightly better format, It not only tells you there is a new post but also who posted it and in what subject, have a look and see what you think. I think it just saves time when it comes to looking at the site and you can also click on the subject on the main page rather that open up the category.

Drop-down images disappearing

Noticed for the first time today that the images for the drop-down menu across the top of the page are showing "This image or" instead of the actual image. When I bring up a page, they appear, then disappear again as soon as the page has finished drawing. If I hover the mouse over the menu selection, the hover image appears.

I am XP SP3, IE7, I haven't installed any updates over the weekend (my PC is set to download them, but not install until I ask it to as the...

Although you can store photos in your Yuku profile, there's a limit on how much space you've got - 30 MB, or enough for around 300 - 600 typical web-size photos. Some people have commented on running out of space - OK, how do you get round this?

Everyone brings one piece of the plane along when they come to the airport. They all go out on the runway and put the plane together piece by piece, arguing non-stop about what kind of plane they are supposed to be building.

As the title. You guys that are struggling with posting links, take a look at the tutorial. If it's not clear after that, I'll fall on my sword. Mike will then have to convert everyone's links for them.

If you're using the latest version of Internet Explorer, you might find a problem doing many things on the forums - and other websites - that need a user prompt box. By default, Internet Explorer 7 (IE7) won't let user prompt boxes run without warning you first.

When you click on something that needs to use a dialogue box, like the 'Link' symbol, the web page will appear to dodge downwards slightly and you'll see a beige warning bar appear above it:

Printing Threads

Is there any way of printing an entire thread other than copying and pasting into a Word document (or similar)? There's some really good threads that I'd like to print for reference (easier to have paper in the garage than a PC and I can see your NACA duct thread is one that will progress into a good few pages).

If there isn't an easy way then no problem, would just make life a bit easier.

Virus alert

There seem to have been a lot of spoof virus warnings doing the rounds recently. These often take the form of pop-ups which mimic authentic Windows dialogue boxes, but in reality are trying to trick you into downloading spyware or malware.

'Antivirus 2009' is one such - a couple of typical pop-ups look like this:

These happen when you move a photo from your Yuku, Photobucket or similar image hosting.

When you post a photo on the forum, it looks to you as though the photo's in that post - but it isn't. What the computer actually sees is an instruction to it to go off and find the photo at the place you're storing it - your Yuku album, Photobucket account, or wherever. Sending Personal Messages

There seems to be a bug with sending / replying to PMs at the moment. Hit send and the page hangs, so it looks as if it hasn't sent. In fact the message has gone, the page has hung after it's gone - so you don't need to send it again. I've reported it as a bug.

Can't see YouTube videos

Hi all,
I seem to have a problem now watching YouTube videos.
When I click on the link/video,it doesn't play and say's something about "JavaScript turned off or old version of Flash Player installed".
I can't seem to download the "latest version of FlashPlayer" either.
Anybody know how to fix this please?.
Any help appreciated.

It now appears to be dead 1748 and 1750 either side work ok but 1749 is showing a 404 error.

Or has it been pulled? anyone else get the same message?

Forum issues

A few problems I think still need resolving:

1. Edit box is a bit flaky - images not always inserted where you want them, sometimes difficult to get the cursor out of a quote box.

2. Marking posts as read / new posts not appearing / 404 errors still happening for me, at least

If posts you've read are getting marked as unread again, or you're getting 404 errors when trying to view or reply to a post, it's not just you, a few of us are getting it. I've put a ticket in to support. No news yet but they are working on the servers.

Dial-up internet access

Anyone out there still on dial-up rather than broadband? I had to access the site at the weekend via a dial-up account, and found it very slow - but then, everything else was as well. If you're having problems, let me know and I'll do some slimming down.
