The web site says there is only one But I have been offered one which has been stored for quite some time and wanted to know if there is any way to tell if it was genuine or not. Has anyone got a sports exhaust manifold for a 2.3 sohc in a Chevette for sale. Plus if using clubman engine mounts, does the manifold fit straight on or do i have to modify the left hand side inner wing above the chassis rail for the manifold to fit???

Has anyone had any problems with the fuel pump on an HS just stopping working.You used to hear it clicking from the rear of the car but now you can't hear the clicking,all the wiring seems to be okay.An older gentleman said that he used to have an MG that worked on the same principal and it the points in the pump that caused the problem,cheers Dave.

Hello- I have an HS axle to fit to my chevette. It came with no brakes- just the back plates. I'm after all the gubbins but I'm not sure as to where from and are they the same drums etc as on the Manta A series axle?

Has anyone out there got some spare bits kicking about?

Would halfords etc list the parts and if so under which car model name?

Does anyone have the torque data and tightening sequence for bolting the HSR twin cam head to the block? Any other useful information will be greatly appreciated.

Need a front bumper rubber strip for my HS any idears, also front brakes are vented with a sliding caliper any idears what they may be off, 16V astra perhaps? I am also rebuilding the engine as it is seized solid where can I obtain the torque settings for the head, big ends etc. Is the bottom end as 2300vx, mine has a 2.5 litre motor, please help.

hello all. I have a chevette back in NZ with 2.3. I got rid of the AC delco dissy and machined up a adapter plate to fit D25 style from mini etc- the reason being that I don't like the positioning of the weights on the AC one-any slop in the bushing and they chuck the rotor out( to the point that I have seen the points in the cap getting hit!).

Does anyone know where to get a stepped cylinder head gasket for the 2.3/2.5/2.6 engine with a recessed block. Or does anyone know of an alternative; i.e. using a standard gasket with copper rings? I have discussed this with someone who rallies an HSR abroad and he says it works well.

I have been unable to locate 225/60VR13 tyres for my HSR. Demon Tweeks was also unable to locate anything in that size. I see from reading the Noos that many HSR owners use 225/60VR13 Yokohamas on the back end. Does anyone know where I can get a pair?

Guys,

I am going to look at a Chevette HS shortly with a view to purchase. Apart from turrets/slam panel are there any identifying marks ie vin numbers or anything to confirm authentic & not a 1256 re-shell. Fairly inexperienced on the snoot scene.

IF its the same flywheel as the other 2.3 slant 4 engines you can get a couple of tons out of it! hello- first post from me in ages...

I'm building a chevette with a mazda 12A rotary right now and have an HS axle to plonk in place. Its missing the front rubber mount that sits over/ on the bearing at front of torque tube. The bearing is there and the pressed on rubber supports are there.
