Ah. My understanding from the reports about that Rover at the time was that a certificate of destruction had been issued for the vehicle (albeit erroneously), and that was why the negotiations with DVLA were somewhat protracted.

The requirements of the scrappage scheme are a slightly different issue, but I suspected that might be the case which is why I stressed that my comment was speculation only. Thanks for checking that out Mal.

So how big a chunk of the shell would they sell you? A lot of half-shells seem to go out of our (reputable) local breakers, though not (as far as I'm aware!) from scrappage cars...
