What I meant really was that it's difficult to compare two engines that aren't necessarily comparable; for example, people will often say that the Lotus headed engine is better than the Vauxhall head on the basis of power outputs, but often they're comparing the special saloon race engine with the Chevette rally engine; they're built to do different things.

I was always lead to believe that Blydenstein initially struggled to get the same performance out of the Vauxhall as they had out of the Lotus, but given time and development the Vauxhall ultimately became the better...

...but I had no idea that they could rev as high as 9500 rpm...
