We had more Transit's than Bedford's those years when they were popular with surfer's and hippies. The Transit nose looked not so nice so they made copy fibreglass front ends from the Bedford's and then Transits began looking like Bedfords. The common motor was the Essex V6, small block Ford V8 and Chev V8 too. As Kit says the Triumph six is longer hence the "bruised knee syndrome" with such a conversion. We do strange thing's here, one I remember well was that some broght spark moulded a Mercedes front section bonnet and grafted that on VW Beetle's. It looked quite commical !
