right 2 steps forward again, i removed the engine and box did a bit of fine fettling on the inner wing, ok i belt it with a rubber malet a fue times to dish it for the manifold ,i removed the tops off the cross member id made for the clubman mounts packed up the sump enough to give me about 6 to 8mm clearence on the manifold to the inner wing, then the big test did the bonnet still clear the carbs, this to me is important as i hate to see hs's with hsr bonnets to me they just don't look right but thats just me everyones different i was thinking if it doesn't ill have to put an r kit on it ,this i didn't want to do, so i went and tried the bonnet on ,did it fit? well see for yourself

it did,you can see on the under bonnet shot to the right of the alternator the small box shape thingie believe its a throttle potentiometer is milimetres from hitting the bonnet but this will be clearer when the bonnets fitted properly as will be lifted slightly ,also the angle is not the problem i thought it was going to be ,right back to the engine mounts again
