Yes, David Shead often had a different colour hair for each race. His most famous stunt that i can remember was at Mallory park.  We were all on the grid, and the five minute board had just gone up. Someone comes over the pit wall with a chair,  David shead gets out of his car, sits in the chair on the grid, and is given a 30 second hair cut, before getting back in the car, helmet on, and ready for the race. I reckon you wouldn't see Lewis Hamilton doing that stunt before a Grand Prix!!  He was really quick in that capri and took no prisoner's. The last i heard of him, he was a Brands Hatch driving instructor.

I was there for that - was either Mallory or Oulton - he was good friends with Dad and Dad used to sponsor him a bit and give him good Capri parts from what I remember.
Richard Macer is still about and lives in Letchworth - he still had the car up to 4 years ago but it was for sale 3 years ago - there's a thread somewhere on the forum.
