What about the Prius Anti lock brake fault that when braking on a rough surface a couple of customers noticed that the pedal travel got longer causing the driver concern that the brakes had lost pressure and failed.

My old Peugeot 406 did exactly the same except the pedal went to the floor! It's a quirk of anti lock systems I was assured by a mechanic friend and nothing to be worried about. Apparently the bracket holding the sensor vibrates and the system thinks the wheel is locking and reduces pressure to the affected wheel but if all 4 vibrate at the same time......

I first noticed it in a car park in Ayr, Scotland, where I had to brake while on a ribbed anti pedestrian surface. I was so taken by surprise that I tried it again 3 times and 3 times the same result, pedal to the floor!

According to Peugeot no one else had reported the problem - so there was no problem! Whereas Toyota did a world wide recall because it was reported a couple of times!
