Should be another one on the floor somewhere. The main box is supported on 2 hangers. The brackets around the silencer are different dependant on 1800 or 2300, but be careful because a lot of 2300's had 1800 systems fitted at one point. - Production shortages probably.

The early mounting design only had one bracket for the middle box. There was only one 'lug' welded to the box exit pipe and not the box itself. The pipe was off centre and therefore the offset weight of the box caused it to twist at the joints and rattle or leak. The solution was to fit the 'v' type bracket to the floor above the box with two hangers and fit two lugs to a band which bolted around the box - a much better solution. This type of hanger was fitted across the whole HC range - OHV as well as OHC.
