We had a good crack yesterday bearing in mind we had never even sat in the car before! We had a few problems, the one that stopped us was a relatively simple electrical earthing issue, which also impacted the gauges and rev limiter etc. So we could only get to about 6k revs for most of the rally. We got the car going again after the 6th stage, having packed up on the 3rd. We then did the next 7 stages under Trophy rally rules to keep shaking the car down. We had to borrow a few bits off another of our cars too - like a manifold and axle! Big thanks to MiX mechanics and the time and effort put in - like MOT Saturday morning, with scrutineering that afternoon in Wales - we just made it - finally scrutineered and logbooked the morning of the rally! It was our first event with pace notes and first national A event together as Jack is 16 and could only get an A licence now. We were very pleased and the car attracted masses of interest and a lot of respect for daring to use Epynt as our test ground! We expect to have 90% plus of the issues ironed out ready for the Ulster in three weeks. Jim was having a blast in the Firenza and is obviously getting more competitive in the car.
