I'm not sure that's true - I even pointed out that I had the same experience on another forum that shows adverts even when logged in. The trouble is they source these ads via third party agencies, and the agencies don't seem to do enough to block "rogue" ones.

I take the point about why IE forgets my login details, but for me it can't be because of an IE update as I don't have the box ticked to automatically install newer versions - my internet connection is relatively slow so I do stuff like that in a controlled fashion, assuming general Windows update doesn't override that setting of course. But that happens on other sites too, the periodic forgetting of stored login details. I don't use IE to store them, I rely on the site cookies to do so - something about having IE keep track of passwords seems like asking the dog to look after the biscuit tin.
