Yeah! This was my first idea for its colour scheme! As I already explained it will pull my rally cars. In Graham Robsons Chevette book you see on one of the
first pages the front of a CF togther with WBB his wife, Tony Pond and team members - lookin really good. I also found the you tube link in this forum showing
Gerry Marshall driving Big? Baby? Bertha. When the report on the racing starts you see sometimes the Team's CF.

I have a couple of photos of the CF from strange but probably good angles. Will scan them in over the weekend and if you let me have your e-mail address
I'll e-mail them to you.

Erik,
There's a few photos about and as we work on the archives (and people like Gregor kindly lend us photos) more are coming to light. The only thing to watch is that the livery and decals changed quite a lot over the years. There's one condition though - if you do it, you have to bring the rig over to Billing for the VBOA National! |

I tend to say OK - without knowing what the VBOA National is!
I guess I will start applying the scheme of the original livery but in yellow and white as on my BMW - better matching to the orange than green and red. When the CF will be silver (someday) the coulours will change to Castrol - or maybe Shell? Sometimes difficult to tell on black and white pictures. For example the picture I was referring to in the Robson book it could also be white with blue and red colours as Tony Ponds Chevette was at that time. Note the sponsor on the bonnet "Systime". Just checked the distance (750km) - is this Billing near Bedford? Of course I will have to go there! As I will have to go to Ascona/Italy with my Ascona... Other events could be Goodwood and maybe an annual meeting of the club (if such exists). Cheers Erik |

Later they went to white or Andrews colours, and early on they were different as well. You'll see in this month's DSN Bill's first service van, a dark blue CA! |

Check out this video for short sections of the CF livery. You will find it driving in and being parked in the service park.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EFTBgnCanJo We will probably need stickers "Dealer Team Vauxhall" and "DTV". Regards Erik Edit: different link to youtube which allows pause without seeing the pause sign and gives precise position in terms of time attached two pics of the clip find more in my profile.

Thanks a lot Gregor!
Great pictures. Interestingly the side doors on the last picture open to the righthand side of the van. Thought this was supposed to be the opposite side for RHD vehicles - or were they LHD as on dbltrbl's latest picture? Does anybody know whether there are stickers available like "DTV" "the griffin on the side of the van" "Sportparts" and "Dealer Team Vauxhall"? Or at least is there any type of font that comes close to the inital scheme so that I can ask a printshop to reproduce these stickers? Maybe Harry should open a new thread in the DTV section for the Service vans and move this information ?! Erik |

Erik,
The CF options list was as long as a BMW's. (I'll have to wash my brain out with soap for writing 'BMW' now....) and you could have almost every door option you could think of. You could order a LH side door on a RHD drive van, or a RH side door, or both. As they were all built on the same line, LHD or RHD, presumably the Opels had the same options. The only impossible option was to have a side door on the same side as a slding cab door because the slide runners would have to be in the same place as the side door. I've seen some LWB vans with a sliding side door, but they seem to be pretty rare. My first CF had a RH sliding driver's door and a LH hinged cab door with a LH side door. Or it did until the side door met a Derby bus one day......

There are a few
photos of DTV CFs on this page, mostly 1980 Donegal. Not great but gives you an idea of some of the stickers etc.

I didn't find a LWB CF so I'll rebuild this with CF 350 axles and probably a high top roof. It will be powered by a 200BHP + SAAB 2.3 litre unit.
