hi guys
for info three chevettes on 2009 bulldog historic entry list a day in the welsh forests for me i think on 28 march roger kitty hsr rob smith tony thompson hsr cheers paul d

Hi Paul,
I think Graham K. is going along to help service for (DSG member!) Rob Smith,not sure yet if I'm going to go or not. It's a long way and what with 2 trips to the Midlands in the next 2 weekends (VBOA Spares Day and Race Retro), It should be good to see them in action,especially Rob's HSR,it should be very competitive,and having seen the workmanship that has gone into it. Will be nice to see the Escorts getting beaten again,(hopefully) it's been a while!. Dave C. |

yes paul if all goes well ill be there servicing be nice to get into the forest to watch a bit as well rob's car is about to drop the engine in ,then
rolling roaded and testing on friday 13th !!!!not supersticious are we , im not cause i can't spell it

ive just been looking at the entry list i see russel brookes is out in a vodka kick porche also a tr8 lotus sunbeam and a rs3.1 capri plus a million escorts
its looking like a good event to go and watch

no maps however... anyone know what stages they are doing - ideally closest to llangollen as only 45mins away from us. ps if anyones going pass llangollen watch your speed... camera hidden in a horsebox! |

Website says Dyfnant and Dyfi forests.
Service for Historics at Dolgellau cattle market. Still not sure if I'm going or not yet. A long way to go,and will probably doze off watching all the Escorts go through when waiting for the Chevettes. DC |

rob smiths hsr was rolling roaded this week and is in wales today testing ready for the bulldog a big entry with all the other classes i might miss it as well
might have to work on saturday will have to wait and see

rob's car has been tested and is running fine got through 3 sets of tyre in 40 miles (to much grunt) so will be very intresting to watch in the forrests
tomorrow setting off at 5 in the morning so it better make it to the first stage

had good day watching bulldog first a visit to service in dolgellau then to jct 14 on dyfi cold wet with snow not far away thats rallying weather for you nice
to see the none escorts the 2 chevettes came thru rob with a misfire then retiered before next stage roger came thru with n/side front damage but finished
13th overall shame they are in class D5 same as all those escorts

Hi Paul,
Yes it was a good day,although a long one!. We went to see the cars at the start (just in case the Chevettes didn't make it to the 1st stage!) Then onto stage 1,freezing cold,wet,windy and snowing!,(the last rally I went to in February was tshirt weather!) Saw Rob go past,(phew!!,)along with the dozens of Escorts,with a handfull of interesting others,(apart from the 2 Chevettes),a Sunbeam Lotus ,Triumph TR8,Capri RS3100,various Porsches,Volvos,Datsun 240Z and Steve Perez' Lancia Stratos. Then on to another 2 stages,the last of which was best,with a long downhill straight.A Porsche managed to go off at speed into the trees just past where we were standing.Rob didn't come past here,he went out with a distibutor problem. But Roger Kilty did with his battered car.Most of the non Escorts and Porsches had fallen by the wayside,but it was a good day anyway. DC |

we saw another old like minded DTV fan (anorack) with his dtv patch on his hat walking past i shouted nice hat but he never heard me obviously over excited at
seeing a pair of chevettes go through shame only the one went past and that was crumpled but this was to be expected with only 40 miles covered in his chevette
rob was bound to be caught out by little problems will be able to get a few more miles in before the next round
