Posts: 381 15 August, 2009 12:03 PM DSG Member	Tags : None Rallyday at Castle Combe Circuit Sept 19th 2009 Rallyday 2009 takes place again this year,allways a good event with plenty of rally cars of all types. Usually plenty of celebrities and ex. drivers including the usual DTV/GMDS works drivers. We have for the last 3 years only had 2 cars on the Club Stand. This year I have no car to take,and Graham K.may not be able to attend. Despite this event being in the last 2 issues of Droop Snoot News, I have had a zero response!,club bookings are now closed,so there will not be a club stand this year. I will be going anyway without a club car,so if anyone else wants to go,see you there. DC

Posts: 341 18 September, 2009 5:56 PM DSG Member	I'll be there - bringing a mate down (easy to spot, he was in a bike accident a couple of months ago and is in a wheelchair with his leg in a cage) Might be coming in the Firenza, if we can fit him in the car, otherwise it's sensible car time :( If i'm in the Firenza then expect to see it in the disabled car parking!

Posts: 342 20 September, 2009 1:10 PM DSG Member	Well it was my first Rally day and I loved it :) Great to see lots of RWD cars getting used properly, there was a lot of very serious Mk1 and Mk2 escorts, as well as quite a few HSRs on display (and a Manta 400) I think we do need a stand next year, if only so we can get some track time!

Posts: 402 20 September, 2009 9:19 PM DSG Member	Yes Andy,those who didn't go missed a good day!. The weather was glorious, crowds were up,(I was told they were expecting 20,000). Plenty of good cars to see,and 3 HSR's,2 of which hadn't been there before. Dave and Lee Kedward had KFL306W, Jason Lepley brought along DEB507V, and Richard Lepley had 918DTV, which I believe is a newly built car?. Not an awful lot of other GM stuff,apart from the Andrews Manta,Phil Collins' Ascona 400,a very nice HC Viva with a Red Top,and a tiger striped Red Top Chevette. Lots of star drivers,Alister McRae being the biggest name,also there were Malcolm and Mathew Wilson,(with their own pilot!) Jimmy McRae,Russell Brookes,Mike Broad,Terry Kaby,etc.etc. Let's hope we can get a little more club support next year,we used to get at least half a dozen cars on the stand. Posts: 5 22 September, 2009 5:37 PM	I was in the striped Chevette and apologise that it was slow and boring. We ran out of time and money the week before so it wasn't as finished as I'd hoped. The rear suspension was horrid (as was the handling) and the engine only fired on 4 cylinders on tickover. The slightest load and it dropped to 3 pots, giving us about 25BHP. Bu99er! It will be sorted for the Brean Stages in January. If anyone has photos they're happy to share, please PM me for my email address. Thanks Jeff
