The car was developed over a few years to be very competitive, and then brother in law Mostyn Rutter came out with his ex Trevor Griffiths car, and for a couple of seasons we ran the two cars. I then retired, and a guy bought the car with a view to turn it back to a road car. Does anybody know if it still exists? I will try and get some old photos scanned, and get them on here. Rob Walker

Yes Snootdroot, that's MWP 862K in the back ground. If its the race im thinking of, i came second that day to David Sheads Capri, and behind me was Richard Macer in a Magnum, then Trevor Griffiths in his Droopsnoot, which he later sold to Mostyn. Then Richard Waller in a Opel Commodore. It was a great day for GM. The Droopsnoot road car in the forground JVV 79N was Mostyn's road car, wonder if that's till around?? I will still get some photos scanned, and get them on here soon. Does anyone out there now the where abouts of Richard Macer, would like to get in touch with him again. Rob Walker

We were all on the grid, and the five minute board had just gone up. Someone comes over the pit wall with a chair, David shead gets out of his car, sits in the chair on the grid, and is given a 30 second hair cut, before getting back in the car, helmet on, and ready for the race. I reckon you wouldn't see Lewis Hamilton doing that stunt before a Grand Prix!! He was really quick in that capri and took no prisoner's. The last i heard of him, he was a Brands Hatch driving instructor.
